  • Others Can't Hear Me / Microphone Not Working With Zoom / Teams. How to fix ?

    Before you start, please ensure your boom microphone is NOT muted.
    RED dot = muted / No RED dot = unmuted.

     

    If it is unmuted but mic still doesn't work, please start with a diagnostic test with your cellphone first. If it works well with your cellphone, but not with computer, it might be a driver or setting issue, please check the following to figure it out further:


    Step 1: Check your computer sound settings.
    Visit your Sound Settings tab and make sure the Avantree headphone is choosen as the input and output device:


    Step 2: Check the meeting Software Sound / Audio Settings.
    If you're using a meeting software such as Skype or Zoom, please also check the Audio & Video Settings within the software and make sure the Microphone input device and the Speaker out device are choosen as the Avantree headphone:

    Please make sure that you closed all other similar apps that might be using your microphone, like Face Time.

  • Use the headphone only with Cellphone / Tablet

    To use the Aria 90B headphone with another audio device, please follow the steps below:

    Step 1: Disconnect it from the USB dongle. The easiest way to disconnect is to unplug the dongle from your PC.

    Step 2: Set the headphone into pairing mode by sliding and holding the power button to theicon; release when you hear “Pairing” and see the LED flashing RED & BLUE

    Make sure the device’s Bluetooth is on and find "Avantree Aria AS90" in your Bluetooth device list, click it to pair, and you should hear “Connected”.

    Note: The headphone does not do auto reconnect to other devices. To reconnect them, please make sure the USB dongle is not plugged in, slide the power button to theonce or click the Aria AS90 on the paired devices to reconnect them.

    • How to use Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

      First, make sure that the headphones are on. To activate the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), slide the ANC switch toward "ANC". The LED on the switch will light up GREEN to indicate that ANC is on. 
      When not in use, please remember to turn the ANC function off to prevent battery drainage.
      We do not recommend activating ANC when using the headphones with a wire (not Bluetooth).

                          
      How it Works:
      Our Active Noise Canceling (ANC) headphones "cancel out" background noise by emitting its own sound wave that counters and reduces the volume of unwanted sounds.

      Note:
      ANC works best for reducing consistent low frequency background noise. It is ineffective at reducing inconsistent or sudden bursts of sound (shouting, car horns, etc.) In quiet environments, you may be able to hear some noise because the ANC microphone may be unable to detect defined background noises.

    • How to Factory Reset / Clear Pairing History of the Aria Series Headphones

      Conducting a factory reset on the headphones will clear all past pairing data and restore the default settings for the product. You may want to reset your headphones if you have trouble pairing them with your devices.

      Step 1: Turn on the Headphones.
      Locate the power switch and push it to the middle. The LED will turn BLUE.
                      

      Step 2: Reset the Headphones.
      Press and hold the volume + and - buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the LED turns PINK, indicating that the headphones have reset. The headphones should then go into pairing mode and the LED will alternate between flashing RED & BLUE. The voice prompt will also say "Pairing". You are now free to pair the headphones with any device! 
                

      NOTE: the factory reset will NOT work if the headphones are in use. Please make sure to hang up any calls and pause any music before attempting to factory reset, and start the process with the headphones powered off.

      If your headphone is not responding, you've tried plugging the charging cable directly to the headphone to charge it for 2 minutes to no avail, and this resetting guide can not solve it, either, please fill in the following RMA verification Form for replacement:

      Related knowledge:

      1. Bluetooth device normally auto-reconnects to its LAST paired / connected device. You might need to make sure the previous used device are Bluetooth-off to avoid interference.

      2. It is important to Reset both Bluetooth sender and receiver. In case of cellphone / PC, you can turn off its Bluetooth function and turn it back on.

    • How to Factory Reset / Clear Pairing History of the Aria 90B Dongle

      Pease follow the Steps below to reset the dongle in Aria 90B set:

      Step 1. Click the following icon to download and install "Bus Hound", the product key you will need is "49940":

      Step 2. After installed, you can see this icon on your computer, double click it to open. It only works after restarting your PC, so please choose the restart time according to your need.

      Step 3. Click "Devices" on the top, plug the dongle to your computer, once plugged in, the window will update itself to shown as the following, find "USB Composite Device" in the list:



      Step 4. Double click "USB Composite Devices" and another small window will pop up, click USB in the small window once to choose, usually it is chosen defaultly:

        

      Step 5. Under the tab of "USB", click "Interrupt Out" once to choose it, type in resetting code "55 43 00 00 00 00 00 ff" in the first line of the area down below, please refer to the following picture to make sure you type it in correctly:



      6. After typing in the numbers in "Step 5", click the icon "Run" on the top left corner, it will start to clear the pairing history of this dongle, it usually can be done in several seconds when you see a "Complete" on the bottom left corner. The dongle will go into pairing mode automatically, flashing blue light rapidly.


      7. Enter the headphone into pairing mode by pushing the power button to the Bluetooth icon side and holding it there for 3 seconds, when you see a blue and red light flashing alternertively. Put the dongle and headphone close to each other and let them pair. The light will show solid blue on them when they are paired successfully.

      Note: The dongle and headphone will be locked to each other automatically when re-paired after reset, you do not need to pair them again in the next use.
      This is only available on a Windows OS, not available on an iMAC OS so far.

      Related knowledge:

    • How to Change the Earpads on Aria Series

      Please follow the guidance below to install or replace with a new earpad:

      To uninstall the earpad, you can directly pull the earpads out from the surrounding plastic housing.
      There are a few plastic clips on the inside perimeter which hold the earpads in place.
      Just start pulling the earpad from the clips and work your way all around the edge until the whole earpad can be removed.

      When install it, you need to re-insert it under the plastic clips in the housing,
      position the orientation of the earpad, so it matches the shape of the housing.
      Press the earpad edge firmly working your way around the perimeter until the earpad is firmly in place, then you will finish the installing easily as showing in the following photos.

      Proper daily maintenance of the earpads can make them last longer ensuring the best sound, if you are interested in how to use them in a protective way, please refer to the following tips:

      1. Keep the earpads in dry condition.
      2. Regularly wipe the inside of the earpads with a soft and dried cloth or brush to remove dust, earwax, or oil from your skin.
      3. The earpads can be taken off from the headphone for better cleaning.
      4. Tools like a cotton swab and small bushes as tooth brushes but with soft hair might be needed.

    • Can I use the headphone in the Aria 90B set separately with other devices like my smart phone?

      You can use the headphone alone with other Bluetooth enabled sound source devices. When use the set, the headphone and USB dongle always auto pair to each other once powered on. To use the headphone with other devices, you need to set it into pairing mode manually, please refer to the following steps to see how: 

      Step 1: Unplug the USB dongle, so that the headphones will be available for other devices.
      Step 2: Power on the headphone, slide the power switch to the middle position as shown in the following:
                                       
      Step3: Enter Pairing Mode, slide the power switch to the Bluetooth icon side and HOLD it there for 2 seconds until the LED indicator alternates between flashing RED & BLUE, you will also hear the voice prompt saying "Pairing".
                          

      Step 4: Pair them up, in the Bluetooth settings menu on your device, locate "Avantree Aria 90", click "Pair" to connect the headphone. Once connected, you'll hear "connected" in the headphone.

      Notes of Reconnecting:
      1. The Bluetooth name of the headphone is “Avantree AS90” when use the headphone alone.

      2. It does not do auto reconnection when use the headphone with other Bluetooth devices instead of the USB dongle. So you need to click “pair” on your device or slide the headphone power switch to the Bluetooth icon to reconnect them.

      3. When the headphone is paired with another device instead of the dongle, the dongle can not reconnect to it even when plugged in. On the contrary, it will reconnect as long as the headphone is disconnected from other devices and powered on.

    • Can I use the USB dongle in this Aria 90B set with other devices like my other headphones?

      The dongle DG10 in the Aria 90B set can only work with the headphone in this set, you can not use it with other devices.

  • Troubleshooting
    • I've tried everything, but the headset and the dongle still can't connect / reconnect, what should I do?

      Normally, once the dongle and the headphone are powered ON and within the recommended range (10 meters / 30 feet, line-of-sight) they should auto-connect within 10s. If this is not the case, please follow the instructions below to factory reset both the headset and the dongle, then reconnect and lock the connection.

      • Step 1: Factory reset the headset 
      • Step 2: Factory reset the dongle 
      • Step 3: After the reset, they should both in the pairing mode. Put them together and wait, they should be connected in a few seconds. Once connected, the LED on the dongle will turn solid blue.

    • Audio Cuts Out Intermittently, Choppy, Unstable Connections, Short Working Range. How to fix?

      If you're experiencing intermittent Audio Cuts, please try to resolve the issues with the methods below:

      Method 1: Clear Pairing History of your headphone and pair them again (Clear Pairing History is NOT turn on/off).

      Method 2: Clear away any potential Wireless Interference Devices.
      Other wireless devices in the vicinity of this set may negatively affect the working range. This "source of interference" can be a WiFi router, a TV box, or even just another Bluetooth device.To solve this issue, simply move either the source of interference away; that ought to clear the problem.

      Method 3: Avoid Physical Objects.
      Walls, solid materials, or even human bodies can all become "obstacles" that negatively affect the Bluetooth device's range. Please try clearing the space between the dongle and headphone, and see if that helps.

      Method 4: Test with other devices (if possible).
      If the three methods above still can not solve it, as a diagnostic test, please refer to this link and pair the headphone with another sound source device like a smart phone (if possible), to see how the headphone range and connection work, we would like replace the dongle for you if it will turns out to be the dongle reason, in this case, please fill in the following form to proceed:

    • Can't Pick up Skype/Zoom Calls or Can Not Mute on my PC Using the Buttons on the Headphones

      Unfortunately, the buttons on the Headphones CANNOT be used to pick up phone calls or mute on your Computer. 

      However, if your headphone is connected to your phone and you're using Skype or Zoom on your phone, the buttons will work properly.

      This is a general issue among Bluetooth headsets; our engineers are working hard to find a solution that can work around this issue.

      When you'd like to MUTE the Microphone however, most of our Bluetooth headsets have independent physical Microphone Mute buttons on the Detachable Microphone.

      Headsets that have the physical mute button: Aria (AS90), Aria Pro (AS90P), Aria Podio (AS90T), Aria Me (AS90TA), Audition Mic (AS9M), DG59M, C519M.

    • Headphone/Speaker/Receiver No Sound and Not Working - General

      Check Point 1: Have you Connected/Paired it Properly?
      Check on your device Bluetooth device list, it should say "Connected" on the menu. If not, please try to pair it to your device again.

      Check Point 2: Have you been Switching between APPs?
      Sometimes when you're listening to music and a call comes in, the Headphones/Speaker can have issues switching back-n-forth... this is a common Bluetooth issue and happens to every Bluetooth Headphone/Speaker. 
      Please choose the headphone/speaker again (if applicable) or reboot the headphone/speaker and pair them up again.

      Check Point 3: Have you Charged the Headphone/Speaker?
      This might seem like a simple solution but when the device is low on battery, a wide variety of issues may occur. Please make sure that it has sufficient battery level.

      If you've checked everything above but still no sound, please try the methods below.

      Method 1: Try it on a Different Device.
      If you have another phone, another laptop etc... try to connect the Headphone/Speaker to it and see if it works on the other device. 
      If yes, it's probably something to do with the settings on your original device, please try again.
      If no, please contact us for support, you may have a faulty unit.

      Method 2 (For Laptops/Computers): Check the Audio Settings.
      For Windows, go into Sound Settings and Sound Control Panel. For Mac, go into Sound Preferences.
      Make sure that the Headphone/Speaker you'd like to use has been selected as the Audio Output/Input device.
      If you're using a Meeting Software such as Skype or Zoom, you may need to go into the app itself and adjust the settings in there as well.

      Method 3: Factory Reset.
      If none of the methods above work, please factory reset the Headphone/Speaker and pair again. Please remember to delete the Avantree device from the paired Bluetooth device list on our sound source device, before attempting to pair again.

    • Audio Cuts Out Intermittently, Choppy, Unstable Connections,Short Range , How to fix?

      If you're experiencing intermittent Audio Cuts, please try to resolve the issues with the methods below:

      Method 1: Made Sure your Bluetooth headphone / speaker is NOT Multi-Linked

      Very often, the intermittent audio cuts out issue is due to the Bluetooth headphone / Speakers are also connected with other devices, e.g. your Cellphone, PC. Please make sure you turn the Bluetooth off on those devices. 

      Method 2: Clear Pairing History of BOTH devices and pair them again.( Clear Pairing History is NOT turn on/off.)

      • Clear Pairing History / Factory Reset the Headphones / Speakers. (Find the instruction under 'Basic & Advanced Features' under each Avantree product Guide. For Non-Avantree items, please google "Product brand model Clear Pairing History")
      • Clear Pairing History / Factory Reset the Adapter. (same as above)
      • Pair them up again. 

      Method 3: Clear away any potential Wireless Interference Devices.

      Other wireless devices in the vicinity of the transmitter may negatively affect the range. This "source of interference" can be a WiFi router, a TV box, or even just another Bluetooth device.

      To solve this issue, simply move either the transmitter or the source of interference away; that ought to clear the problem.

      Method 4: Check the Operation range of the other Bluetooth device.

      Certain Bluetooth devices have much shorter range; this "feature" is especially obvious on smaller Bluetooth devices like True Wireless Earbuds.

      If this is the case, the only real solution is to simply go with another Bluetooth device - one that has a better range.

      Method 5: Avoid Physical Objects.

      Walls, solid materials, or even human bodies can all become "obstacles" that negatively affect the Bluetooth device's range.

      Try clearing the space between your Bluetooth devices, and see if that helps.

    • Can I use the headphone in the Aria 90B set separately with other devices like my smart phone?

      You can use the headphone alone with other Bluetooth enabled sound source devices. When use the set, the headphone and USB dongle always auto pair to each other once powered on. To use the headphone with other devices, you need to set it into pairing mode manually, please refer to the following steps to see how: 

      Step 1: Unplug the USB dongle, so that the headphones will be available for other devices.
      Step 2: Power on the headphone, slide the power switch to the middle position as shown in the following:
                                       
      Step3: Enter Pairing Mode, slide the power switch to the Bluetooth icon side and HOLD it there for 2 seconds until the LED indicator alternates between flashing RED & BLUE, you will also hear the voice prompt saying "Pairing".
                          

      Step 4: Pair them up, in the Bluetooth settings menu on your device, locate "Avantree Aria 90", click "Pair" to connect the headphone. Once connected, you'll hear "connected" in the headphone.

      Notes of Reconnecting:
      1. The Bluetooth name of the headphone is “Avantree AS90” when use the headphone alone.

      2. It does not do auto reconnection when use the headphone with other Bluetooth devices instead of the USB dongle. So you need to click “pair” on your device or slide the headphone power switch to the Bluetooth icon to reconnect them.

      3. When the headphone is paired with another device instead of the dongle, the dongle can not reconnect to it even when plugged in. On the contrary, it will reconnect as long as the headphone is disconnected from other devices and powered on.

      The dongle DG10 in the Aria 90B set can only work with the headphone in this set, you can not use it with other devices.

    • How to Use Avantree Headphones with your Smart TV via TV Bluetooth?

      Bluetooth headphones / earbuds can be used with Bluetooth-enabled smart TV directly. If your TV does not have built-in Bluetooth, then you will need a Bluetooth audio transmitter to use with your Bluetooth Headphones for TV. Or you can simply get a Bluetooth headphone TV set instead.

      Note:
      1. TV Bluetooth does not support aptX Low Latency and you might detect slight audio delay via Bluetooth.
      2. TV Bluetooth does not normally offer a great operating range. Good quality Bluetooth audio transmitter will support longer operating range.
      3. TV Bluetooth normally mute the TV speaker as well as all other TV audio outputs. So for users perfer TV speaker OR soundbar working at the same time, please use external Bluetooth transmitter instead of TV Bluetooth. 

      If no above concerns, use your Bluetooth headphones with TV Bluetooth is the easiest solution for you. 

      For First Time Use
      1) Enter your Avantree Headphones into Bluetooth Pairing / Discoverable Mode.

      2) Go to TV Bluetooth Settings and select Avantree Headphones to Connect.

    • Can't Pick up Skype/Zoom Calls or Can Not Mute on my PC Using the Buttons on the Headphones

      Unfortunately, the buttons on the Headphones CANNOT be used to pick up phone calls or mute on your Computer. 

      However, if your headphone is connected to your phone and you're using Skype or Zoom on your phone, the buttons will work properly.

      This is a general issue among Bluetooth headsets; our engineers are working hard to find a solution that can work around this issue.

      When you'd like to MUTE the Microphone however, most of our Bluetooth headsets have independent physical Microphone Mute buttons on the Detachable Microphone.

      Headsets that have the physical mute button: Aria (AS90), Aria Pro (AS90P), Aria Podio (AS90T), Aria Me (AS90TA), Audition Mic (AS9M), DG59M, C519M.

      Disclaimer: Please contact Avantree Support BEFORE upgrading. Be aware that if you upgrade without prior consultation with Avantree technical support and the product dead due to DFU misoperation, the warranty is not covered.

      Step 1: Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) File

      1. Please access to this link to find the firmware upgrade file.

      2. RIGHT CLICK and save the file to your computer noting the save path. Please note you can not open this file directly, just to save and choose when you upgrade.

      Step 2: Enter AS90B Headphones into DFU mode

      Ensure the headphones are OFF. Connect Avantree AS90B headphones to PC via a Micro USB sync & charge cable. (The usb cable coming with AS90B is just for charging). 

      Hold the volume up "+"and down "-" button for 5 seconds to enter into DFU mode.The LED indicator on the headphones will turn PINK.

      Step 3: Download & Install CSR Bluesuite to Perform DFU (For Windows PC)

      1. Download the DFU Tool.

      Please click and download the DFU tool here -  CSR Qualcomm BlueSuite 2.6.11software from below link and install it on your computer. (Note: It only works with Windows computer, and need a USB data cable to complete the DFU)

      2. Please find “Qualcomm BlueSuite 2.6.11” in “all programs” on your computer and select “PSTool”

      3. Choose transport "USB" and click "OK"

      4. Click "File" to merge the firmware upgrade file (The file you've downloaded in Step 1) from your computer. After you click the “Reset&close” button, the whole Firmware Update procedure is done! You will be good to go! 

      Step 4: Reconnect Dongle and Headphones.

      The headphones will enter into pairing mode automatically when you turn them back on after DFU. 

      Please plug the dongle to the PC and wait for them to reconnect.

      If they fail to reconnect, please unplug&re-plug the dongle. At the same time, please reset/clear the pairing history of the headphones to see if they will reconnect with success. Press and hold the volume +and - buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the LED turns PINK, indicating a successful reset. 

      After that, they should reconnect with each other.

    • Can I Use Headphones and Earbuds With My Pacemaker?

      Your pacemaker is designed to work properly around most appliances and tools. However, electromagnetic interference (EMI) from headphones and earbuds may affect how your pacemaker works. These effects are usually temporary. Still, we recommend following these guidelines to stay safe.

      Anything that transmits Bluetooth or with a magnet inside cannot be used closer than 6'' (15 cm) to a pacemaker. All of our Headphones, Speakers, and Earbuds, as well as all of our Bluetooth products fall under this category, and must not be placed very close to your pacemaker. Normal usage of our headphones and earbuds - wearing them in or over your ears - is completely safe.

      The Takeaway: It’s safe to use headphones and earbuds with your pacemaker, but you should not drape them around your neck or store them in a breast or other shirt pocket - as that would put them too close to your pacemaker. Normal usage should bear no problems.

    • Bad Sound Quality During Chats

      Are you listening to music and chatting at the same time? Are you playing games with your friends and talking on Discord at the same time? If you're using the headphones in this way, the sound quality will be bad because your headphones do not support the FastStream codec.

      FastStream is a type of Bluetooth codec. When you connect a headphone/headset that supports FastStream to an adapter that also supports FastStream, you'll be able to get 16-bit Stereo Quality voice chats - much better than the Mono quality you've been getting through your own headphones. Not only that, but you won't experience a drop in sound quality when gaming and chatting at the same time.

      * Important Note*

      To take advantage of the better performance of the FastStream codec, the other Bluetooth device must support the same codec. If the other device only supports aptX or SBC, these codecs will be used instead of FastStream.

      Some of our products like the 90P-ENC, 90B, 130T and 1060 do not support this, as either the headphones or the dongle do not support FastStream. So we recommend the AS90+DG80 to customers who want to listen to music or play games while chatting at the same time. This set of products is perfect for in-game chatting and VOIP calls on PC.

      Item purchased from Avantree.com can be returned to the closest Avantree RMA center for full refund within 30 days of purchase with no question asked.

    • Where to find Batch Number/LOT Number?

      Batch No. or Lot No. is a 4-5 Digit/Alphabet combination (e.g. T22F1, 22B1, or T22J1) printed somewhere on the product. The "somewhere" is usually as follows:

      1. on the bottom of the product;

      2. on the inside of the Headband, just above the Earcups;

      3. on the in-line controls or on a Tag near the 3.5mm AUX Plug;

      Above are some examples that'll give you an idea of what the Batch/Lot Number looks like and where to find them. The print for Batch No. or Lot No. is usually quite small; please consider using a magnifying glass if it's hard to read.

    • How to Properly Clean the Earbuds

      As you may know, earbuds get dirty pretty easily... Earwax, dust, water etc. can all do damage to them. Uncleaned earbuds may lead to...

      • Music sounding muddy or muffled
      • Different volume on the two earbuds
      • Abnormaly low volume / tinny sound after using for a period of time

      Daily maintaince can effectively eliminate such problems.

      • Before wearing the earbuds, make sure to clean the inner side of the ear.
      • Always wear and use earbuds in dry condition.
      • After using the earbuds, wipe the inside of the earbud tip with a soft and dry towel to remove dust, earwax, or oil from your skin.

      If you're already experiencing different volume levels between the two earbuds, please try to follow the following steps to clean them out:

      (These apply to all Avantree earbuds, but the following uses the NB18 as an example.)

      1. Materials you'll need: a cotton swab and dried brush (if you can't find the black cleaning brush, a toothbrush can work instead.)

      2. Take off the earbud tips from the earbuds smoothly. Do not detach the earbud tip from the earbud excessively as it may tear.

      3. Use a cotton swab and dried brush to remove any debris and foreign materials.

      4. If foreign substance is still present, try brushing the earbuds again to dislodge the remainder.

      5. After you finish cleaning, please assemble the earbud tip back to the earbud properly. Cover the latch at the bottom of the earbud with the earbud tip like below.

      Please note: Do not use liquid like alcohol or soapy water for cleaning earbuds as some of our earbuds are not alcohol-proof or soapy-waterproof.

      • How To Register for Warranty If the Product Received As A Gift?

    • Why am I always being redirected to the wrong store

      If you have the problem of being redirected to the wrong store and unable to place an order when you visit avantree.com, the first thing you can try is to switch to another web browser. If that does not work, here are two methods for you to solve the issue.

       

      Method 1. Visit our site in an Incognito window of your browser. We will take Google Chrome as an example to show you how to open an Incognito window.

      Note: If you are using other browsers, please refer to the settings process of chrome above.

      Step1. Open the Chrome browser and click on the top-right menu, then choose the "New Incognito Window" option.
